The links below are to all
presently known Breckinridge County
cemeteries. The information was graciously supplied by Karen Schafer and her staff at the Breckinridge County Archives in Hardinsburg, and individuals on the Breckinridge County Cemetery Board. The index represents a little over 400 of the nearly 600-700 cemeteries in Breckinridge County. For any cemetery that you know the name and location of, please contact Karen Schafer at the Breckinridge County Archives in Hardinsburg or Dana Brown. Please remember, the more information given, the better the chance of locating the cemetery and it going in a"Located Cemetery" list. Below is a future link for names of many of the cemeteries that were known under different names. Some newspapers may list a name for a cemetery that no longer exists, but hopefully this listing will help take care of updating all cemetery names. Death certificate transcriptions have also yielded names of "unknown" cemetery burial locations. A listing has been started so no one is forgotten, even if they have no marker over their grave. Under the cemetery index table is a box listing various colors. These colors represent the county division into regions by which the County Cemetery Board has located burial sites or cemeteries. Each region is listed and within that region are the cemeteries that can be found in it's parameters. Bear in mind, these are all the KNOWN cemetery locations. There are always cemeteries still being discovered and turned in to the Hardinsburg Archives. If you would like to submit pictures of any tombstone markers from the cemeteries listed within the index, feel free to use the submission form that's at the top of this page and the main page, or you may email Dana Brown with the picture/pictures for placement on the site. |
