Mrs. Hart, born in the Silent Run area of Hopkins County in 1881, always had a desire to live to be 100, her daughter, Helen Peyton, said in a Messenger article on her mother's birthday.

Mrs. Hart was known locally for her skill in tatting, or making fine lace by looping and knotting thread. She continued with her hobby until very recently, Mrs. Peyton said.

Although she lived in Chicago for 30 years, Mrs. Hart spent the majority of her life in Hopkins County. She celebrated her centennial at Brown's Rest Home, and at the time of her death was living with her daughter at 210 Kentucky Ave.

Daughter of the late Orlando Franklin and Florisa Sisk, she married William Benjamin Hart in 1900. He preceded her in death in 1931.

Mrs. Hart was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Bonnie) Cain, 210 Kentucky, Mrs. Florisa Davis, Chicago, Mrs. Thelma Maddox, Nebo, Mrs. Sybil Schaut, Wisconsin and Mrs. Elvoree Peyton, Hickory Hills, Ill.; two sons, Walter D. Hart and Amplis O. Hart, both of Nebo; 36 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, with the Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Marvin Campbell.

Burial will be in Silent Run Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday until the funeral hour.

The following was printed in the "In Remembrance" pamphlet printed by the Harris Funeral Home and Chapel.

"I don't believe it," she said this morning from her bed at Brown's Nursing Home where she now resides. "I feel like I always did."

Born in the Silen Run area on June 11, 1881, Mrs. Hart is the mother of seven children, a grandmother to 31 children, a great grandmother to 68 children, and a great, great grandmother to 18 children.

Today, some of them will be celebrating with her at Brown's.

Locally, Mrs. Hart was known for her skill at making tatting, a fine lace made by looping and knotting thread. She has continued to practice this art until very recently, according to her daughter, Mrs. Helen Peyton.

Mrs. Hart is the daughter of the late Orlando Franklin and Floricia E. Sisk, both of Hopkins County. She married William Benjamin Hart on Jan. 26, 1900.

Mr. Hart died in January 1931.

Although Mrs. Hart has spent most of her life in Hopkins County, she did reside in Chicago for 30 years, according to Mrs. Peyton.

This morning, Mrs. Peyton commented: "Mother had a desire to to be 100-years old...always."
