Lawrence Hill |
Lawrence Hill, 71, retired miner and farmer, died in his Madisonville route 5 home at 11:50 am Friday after an illness of several months.
Born March 6, 1886 in Webster county, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs William D Hill and moved to Hopkins county with his family when a young boy. He worked for West Kentucky Coal Company for a number of years before retiring to devote his time to farming. He married Grace Catherine Aaron on 1906 and to this union four children were born, three of whom survive. Mrs Hill died in 1957.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs W O Madison, Nashville; Mrs Catherine Williams, Madisonville route 5, and Mrs Clarence Maxwell, Evansville; three sisters, Sister Agmelia, Bardstown; Sister Sienna, Helena, Arkansas; and Mrs Margaret Sisk, Earlington; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 am Monday in the Church of Immaculate Conception, Earlington, with the Rev. William Borntraeger officiating. Burial will be in Mt Calvary cemetery.
The body is at Reid Funeral Home in Earlington.
