Albert J Jones
Albert J. Jones, 73, died in the home of his son, Guy Jones, 33 North Scott Street, at 12:30 p.m. Friday following a long illness.
Mr. Jones, connected with the coal mining industry for many years before ill health forced his retirement, was born in Macon, Tenn., and came to Madisonville more than 20 years ago. He was foreman for the former Reinecke Coal Company here for sometime. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World camp here.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ella Beshear Jones; a son, Guy Jones, 33 North Scott; a daughter, Mrs. William S. Miller, Louisville; three brothers, Ned and Herbert Jones, Westmoreland, Tenn., and Smith Jones, Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Medors and Mrs. Sam Jenkins, both of Westmoreland; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in William L. Barnett Funeral Service, East Center Street. The Rev. O.T. Nichols will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jeff Webb. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery.
