Mrs Cordie Ethel Kirkwood

Mrs. Cordie Ethel (Walker) Kirkwood, 86, of 132 Cates St., Madisonville, died at 6:10 a.m. today in Hopkins Co., Hospital.

She had been in declining health for the past 10 years and was a resident of Senior Citizen Nursing Home and Kentucky Rest Haven before being admitted to the hospital.

Mr. Kirkwood and her husband, Wiliam Rufus Kirkwood, operated the county farm here years ago.

She was born in Hopkins Co., March 15, 1888, the daughter of the late James H. Polk Walker and Sarah Frances Buntin Walker. She had been a member of Silent Run Baptist Church for 71 years.

Surviving are two sons, John E. Kirkwood, Providence and William (Bill) Kirkwood, Rt. 1,Nebo; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
