Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Union Co., KY

Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, (also known as Sullivan Community Cemetery) is located on 109 in Sullivan. From 109, you turn onto Mt. Pleasant Cem Rd, and follow the one lane road up the hill. According to the Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church sign, the church was organized in 1899.

I have no history for this cemetery or church, but would love to add it here if anyone can provide info for me. Going by tombstones only... the oldest birth AND death dates belong to Washington Fryar (1817 - 1880). Other burials before the church was organized are; Cornelia Oliver - 1895, V. A. Whitecotton - 1896, Pearl Wynns - 1897. The first burial (per the tombstones), after the church was organized in 1899 was Gertrude Quirey in 1900. There were a few that were unreadable, and I'm sure a few more exist that have no stone at all. While this is a small cemetery, it is still being used for current burials.
