	Josiah Carter Versailles, Ky., April 20--Services for Josiah Carter, 92, former Woodford county farmer, who died Sunday at Dayton, Ohio, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Duell's funeral chapel. The Rev. C. B. Meininger will officiate and burial will be in the Versailles cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wheeler Belt, Lexington; two sons, Wade Carter, Dayton, Ohio, and Pitman Carter, Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Adams, Woodford county; Mrs. Laura Belle Strange, Jessamine county, and Mrs. Sam McGaughey, Dayton, Ohio, and two grandchildren. The body will be brought to the funeral home tonight. Charles A. Wilson Died At Anderson Residence Lawrenceburg, Ky., Aug. 30--Charles Alvin Wilson, 36, resident on his father's farm five miles north of here on Highway 151, fatally shot himself in the head with a shotgun about 6 o'clock this morning at the back door of the residence, Coroner Clarence Watts reported. Members of the family attributed the act to ill health. Mr. Wilson had scarlet fever in the spring and suffered a paralytic stroke a few weeks later. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Powell Wilson; four children, Edward, Charles Alvin Jr., John William and Peggy Lou Wilson; two sisters, Miss Dorothy Wilson, Woodford county, and Mrs. James Saffell, Frankfort; his father, W. H. Wilson, Woodford county, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Major, Lawrenceburg. The body was removed to the Gordon funeral home at Lawrenceburg. Native Woodford Countian One of Four Killed In Crash Mrs. Delores Dragoo Conner, wife of Carl Conner, was killed in an auto crash, Monday, which also took the lives of three others, including her husband. The wreck occurred on Clays Ferry hill in Madison county. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Dragoo, of Dry Ridge pike, Woodford County, and was married to young Mr. Conner in September 1939. She graduated from Versailles High School in 1935 and later completed a course in nursing. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Kerr Funeral Home, Lexington with Rev. A. W. Fortune and Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Burial was in Lexington cemetery. Cpl. Edwin L. Stevens Cpl. Edwin L. Stevens, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Stevens, 330 Park avenue, was killed in action in the Southwest Pacific, Sept. 24, according to word from the War Department. Corporal Stevens, who had been in service since April, 1943, was a gunner. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Robert and Everett Stevens, and a sister, Mrs. Madelyn McKenna. Rear Admiral Dies in Pearl Harbor Attack Washington, Dec. 10--The navy announced tonight that Rear Admiral Isaac Campbell Kidd was killed during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Sunday. He was in command of a battleship division of the Pacific fleet. It did not disclose the name of his flagship, on which he presumable was aboard. Admiral Kidd was born in Cleveland March 26, 1884. He was graduated from the naval academy in 1906. Navy Announces Deaths of Eight Kentuckians Washington, Sept. 22--Eight Kentuckians have been killed in action the Navy Department announced today. Willard O. Higgs, U.S. Marine Crops, son of Perry Higgs Bowling Green. Pfc. Sam Howard, U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, son of Mrs. Bessie Thacker, Leburn and ward of Mrs. Mary B. Mastin, Versailles. Sgt. William M. Jennings, U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Jennings, Louisville. Pfc. Fred M. Jones, Jr., U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, son of Mrs. Stella Day, Harlan. Pfc.
