Mrs. Thomasson was a member of a pioneer Clark County family. She was born April 02, 1878 at Okolona, a daughter of William P. Ross and Alice Black Sloan Ross and she was married at Okolona, December 20, 1897 to R.L. Thomasson. They moved to Arkadelphia shortly after the turn of the century. He was the proprietor of a drug store here for several years. Mrs. Thomasson was a graduate of Arkadelphia Methodist College, the predecessor of Henderson-Brown College and Henderson State College. In Arkadelphia Mrs. Thomasson was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Robert R. Thomasson of Arkadelphia; a daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Lane of Arkadelphia; a sister, Mrs. John B. Brown of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Murry-Ruggles Funeral Chapel by Dr. Fred Harrison and Rev. J.M. Hamilton and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church. Fannie Ross Thomasson was a cousin to my Dad, Marvin Andrew Sloan.
