Roy Vernon Vandiver July 24, 1967 The News Palladium

  Roy Vernon Vandiver died in Berrien Springs, Michigan but was born and 
had lived in Arkansas for over half of his life. It is because of that, 
that I am including my Grandfather in Craighead county obituaries.

Roy Vernon Vandiver
February 2, 1928-July 22, 1967
  Roy Vernon Vandiver, 39, of Route 2 box 164, Bangor, Michigan, died at 
the Berrien County Hospital at 6:40 p.m. Saturday July 22, where he had 
been a patient for a week.
  Roy was born on February 2, 1928 in Manila, Arkansas to Paul William
Vandiver and Bertha McMasters-Vandiver and moved to this area 20 years
ago.
  Mr. Vandiver was employed by Lawrence Chevrolet Garage.
  He is survived by his widow, Ruth Mae Pasley Vandiver, whom he married
January 15, 1945 in Manila, Arkansas; one son Robert Lee Vandiver of 
Grand Junction Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Barber of Bangor, 
Michigan, Cathalina and Pasty Lynn Vandiver of the home; His father Paul 
Vandiver of Florida; three brothers, Gary Vandiver of Poplar Bluff Missouri,
Richard and Jimmy Vandiver both of Manila Arkansas.
  Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday July 26, in the Bethel
Tabernacle Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The Revern Elvis Lawson,
Pastor will officiate.
  Burial will follow in the Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor,
Michigan.
