He was a vetern of the Vietnam War and retired from the Marine Corp as gunnery sergeant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Beebe. He was a avid hunter and fisherman, a Little League coach and enjoyed bowling with the Saturday Night Rollers. He was the son of the late Lee and Willie Johnson and was also preceded in death by his brother J.B. Johnson. he is survived by his wife, Raena Johnson, of the home; his sons, James Ray Johnson, Phillip Ray Johnson and Thomas Martin Ross Johnson, all of Cabot; daughters Kristine Coleman, Laura Johnson and Ingeberg Johnson, all of Florence, Oregon; brothers, Larry Johnson of California, Edward Johnson of Mississippi and Pat Johnson of Cabot; sisters Charlene Potter of California and Sue Anderson of Cabot; his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Missouri Miner of Cabot; brothers-in-law, James Miner and Glen Ariola, both of Missouri, James Anderson of Cabot and Dayne Miner of California: seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Interment will be in Mount Carmel cemetery. Arrangements are by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816. EDITH MARTIN, A RETIRED TEACHER Mrs. Edith Martin, 93, of Austin, died July 6,. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Sylvania Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of W.H. Martin and she was also preceded in death by one son, Ray Martin, and a grandson, Dana Martin. She is survived by one son, Garth Martin of Little Rock; one sister, Gladys Marshall of Ward; one brother, F.M. Bennett of Cabot, three grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held July 8 at Sylvania Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Sylvania Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.Memorials may be made to Sylvania Presbyterian Church or the Television Ministry of Pulaski Heights Methodist Church in Little Rock. DALE "JIGGS" STEVENSON, A retired driver Dale H. "Jiggs" Stevenson, 66, of Beebe, died July 5,. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by two sons, Loren Stevenson of Fontana, California and Douglas Stevenson of Hammond, La.; two foster sons, Randy and Chuck Lee of Baker, Mont.; two brothers, Harvey Stevenson of Beebe and Franklin Stevenson of Searcy; three sisters, Dorothy Sanders of McRae, Ruby McKinney of Mount Vernon and Frances Claypool of Beebe. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Dearing and Gertrude Thompson and two brothers, James and William "Buddy" Stevenson. Graveside services were held July 7 at Concord Cemetery in Lonoke. Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ North Pulaski Leader, Jacksonville, AR, Wednesday, August 20, 1997 LUCY MAE STIVERS, OF WOODLAWN Lucy Mae Barnum Stivers, 69, of the Woodlawn community in Lonoke County, died Aug. 15. She was a housewife and a retired employee of Land-O-Frost. She is survived by three sons, Larry and Randy Stivers, both of Woodlawn and Jack Stivers of Ward; four daughters, Linda Troop and Glenda Graham, both of Woodlawn, Frances Franklin of Searcy and Norma Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; three berothers, J.D. Barnum of Birdtown, Junior Barnum of New Jersey and Chester Barnum of Little Rock; three sisters, Minnie Linn of Morganton, Edith Holloman of Conway and Cassie Nicholson of Bee Branch; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Aug. 18 at Garner Baptist Church with buriel in Beebe Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe. FAYE MALANOWSKI, OF CABOT Faye Malanowski, 73, of Cabot, died Aug. 17. She was the Widow of Casimie Malanowski and was also preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Lenoi of Fairview, Tex., and Veronica Wilson of Port Orange, Fla.; one brother, Dennis Ragland of Mountain Home; a sister, Helen Pasmore of Clinton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
