Alva "Snooks" Yaerger Feb. 1991 Atkins Chronicle

  Alva Yaerger, 77, Former member of Atkins Council
Mr. Alva Yaerger of Bald Knob, formerly of Atkins, Arkansas died 
Monday, February 4,1991 at age 77.  He was a retired meat cutter, a 
member of the Atkins Church of Christ, a member of the V.F.W., an 
Army veteran of WWII, and a former Atkins City Councilman.  Mr. Yaerger 
was born on April 17, 1913 at Atkins, Arkansas, a son of the late Newton 
Jefferson Yaerger Sr. and Nora Belle Hearne Yaerger.  He was preceeded 
in death by his wife of 43 years Elsie Vyneda Lackey Yaerger.
  Suvivors include his son, Charles Allen Yaerger of Bald Knob, Ark; one
brother Newton Jefferson (Jack) Yaerger of Benton, Ark; one sister
Dorothy Ererto Bauer of Atkins, Ark and six grandchildren.
  Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 6, at 3:30 p.m. in
the Atkins Chruch of Christ with Glenard Casto officiating.  Burial
followed in Bells Chapel Cemetery at Atkins.
